Dajak is one of the trademarks of the city of Banja Luka and one of the most beautiful city symbols.
Dajak is a unique boat which is up to 9 meters long. It is made of wood. The front of the boat is made of a harder wood and specially decorated according to the owner’s wishes and it is the most beautiful part of the boat. That is why each boat is a story for itself.
The boat was named after the wooden pole which is used to move boat. The pole, the dajak, is several meters long. The boat is moved by sticking the pole in the bottom of the river Vrbas and then pushing the boat upstream. A ride in the dajak boat is a magnificent experience and during summer you can see many dajaks on the river Vrbas.
