The Museum of Contemporary Arts was founded in 1971 and it located in one of the most beautiful buildings in Banja Luka city. It used to be train station and it was built in 1891 during Austro-Hungarian government.
The building served as a train station until 1968 and after 1969 it was a bus station. It was renovated after being damaged in the earthquake and transformed to commercial spaces and put under Museum management.
It was adapted for Museum’s use in 1981 and it is located in the city center acros the Municipality building. The Museum hosts various exhibitions and events for local and foreign artists. It is one of the Bosnia and Herzegovina’s national monuments.
