Temple of Christ the Savior – The biggest orthodox temple in Banja Luka city

Temple of Christ the Savior is the biggest and most beautiful orthodox religious building in Banja Luka. It is located in the city center between the Municipality building and the Ban’s Court.

The temple was built from 1925 to 1939. Unfortunately during the World War II the temple was damaged during German bombing in 1941 and later on it was completely destroyed. The restoration started in 1992 and it was completed in 2010 when the ruins of the old temple were placed in front of the new one.

The temple is decorated with domes of special material which can last up to a thousand years, with a beautiful bell tower with a clock and unique gold cross of 2,5 meters in height.
